The weekend was way fun. We went to the Louisiana Renaissance festival. There were fewer shows than last year but it still fun.

It's getting really cold down here, and when I say really cold I mean REALLY, REALLY COLD!!! I barely have any jackets at all. The people from the big tent (Cavalry Chapel) are all bundled up. They even wear mittens under their plastic gloves. My mom bought me this orange fleece today, but it was already too warm to wear it. On Saturday me and my dad cleaned up the back yard.

On Tuesday we're having a Thanksgiving feast at our school. We always have one, but this year a church is bringing the food, instead of each family.

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Where and how do we send jackets?

I have to give this young person a hug for even having the attitude of thanks. I think most adults would be hard pressed to find any joy right at the moment. Yes, it is something to be thankful for that one is alive after such a catastrophe. We should all hope this young individual fares well and realizes that the future will be completely different because of what he or she has gone through. It changes a person to survive something like this. We need to keep this young one in our prayers. We also need to be very thankful for everything we have and every minute we are given here. "Things" can be replaced, but a life is very precious. God bless you, hon. You're gonna have a great life in spite of it all. You're made of good stuff.

Hi Noah,
This is Sofia's mom - she goes to your school...well, she used to go to your school and she will again soon. We have evacuated to Boulder, CO but we are returning to the Bay right after New Year's - to start a new year and a new life in the place that we consider our home. Boulder is very beautiful, and the community has been kind to us, but we are extremely homesick for the Coast, our friends and for C.E.S. We are sorry we will miss the annual Thanksgiving feast but it warms my heart to hear that it is happening as usual. Please send our love to everyone! I have enjoyed reading your blogs as well as your sister's because it makes me feel better about returning, and about the prospect of my daughter being able to have some semblance of a normal childhood in the place that we love. Keep writing, and we will see you and your family in January....

noah if you need warm clothes my wife and i will load up and bring some

Noah,
I spent last week volunteering at the Calvary Camp you mentioned. Yes it get's really, REALLY COLD! I left my sleepingbag and my coat when we loaded up for the airport. It was a pleasure to serve you and your community in our Savior Name, Jesus.
