The weekend would have been a normal one if the bottom of our house had Sheetrock. On Friday, we went to the movies. We saw Harry Potter. Saturday we cleaned our back yard a little bit. My mom and I dropped my sister off at a birthday party and then went shopping. On Sunday we went to a Renaissance festival with some friends. So all in all it was a normal weekend except for the fact that when I wake up I watch the sun rise over the water, and a pile of debris.

Well, at least you got to see Harry Potter, I have been looking forward to that since reading the book but just have no time-yet. Hope the birthday party was fun for your sis and you got the things you needed with shopping. The Renaissance festival, now that sounds like FUN! I have not been to one-yet. Well, about shopping-I personally HATE shopping, especially this time of year-well I guess I like the food shopping as I love to bake while my husband is the real cook-but other than that we both really do not like crowds much. Talking about shopping, out the door I must go for that Thanksgiving dinner goodies-which everyone is in our prayers that they have a very good Thanksgiving.
Hey, you are in my prayers and hope that the rebuilding does not take too long and that you all stay safe and warm. May you have every success in all of your future endeavors. May the Sun always shine down upon you and the wind be at your back (An Irish proverb-think that is the way it goes???) Well-Assalamu alaikum (means: peace be upon you)

These moments of reality really "bite", I've been doing that since our house burned 2 years ago and now the one we were rebuilding went under 12 ft. of water. Talk about having to start over twice, at least we had already lost everything to the fire so the wind and water just finished off the few things we had managed to collect. At least we didn't have to clean out all the mud -------------

WHY is the Federal Government not cleanning up WAVELAND & BAY ST.LOUIS, Contractors are sitting around waiting on the Corps of Engineers to make a decision!!!!!!!!!!

The reason that the debris is not being cleaned up is because the FEMA subcontractors are not being paid right now. At least that is what I have heard. FEMA is not paying them on time, so they sit around and wait. Down here, it is all a wait and see game.
