Dear Santa,
I have been very good this year! I even helped my parents clean up our house after the hurricane! So I think that I should get extra presents this year! So here is my wish list! These are in no particular order.

  1. Sheetrock (because it gets really cold downstairs without it!)
  2. Windows (for the same reason)
  3. The debris outside my window gone (I used to have such a nice view)
  4. Snow on Christmas ( I was gone last time it snowed)
  5. Chanel shoes (the pink flats with the logo on the toe
  6. A couch (because there is nowhere to sit!)
  7. A big purse (to fit everything I'll never need)
  8. A hot shower(the one we have is lukewarm)
  9. Our neighbors (we are the only ones on the street)
  10. Tickets to a U2 show (backstage passes preferably)
  11. A REAL refrigerator (one that doesnt freeze the milk)
  12. My all girls school (because boys are gross)
  13. A grocery store (so we don't have to drive 30 miles and wait in really long lines)
  14. A bookstore (because I've read all the books at the library)
  15. No more people living in tents! (it is cold)
  16. A Christmas tree (it isn't Christmas without one)
  17. Something green outside (not just the debris)
  18. A table (because we eat on the floor or the bed)
  19. More designer shops in Mississippi (I only get to look at pretty clothes in magazines)
  20. No more hurricanes! (I know I'm beig unrealistic)

Thanks in advance Santa!

Love, Hannah

i'll pray for each and every thing you have asked for....merry christmas!!!!!

Hannah, Such a wonderful list. If not by this Christmas, then at least by next Christmas I hope you get everything on it.

You won't find boys gross for much longer, but hopefully you will get your school back.

Dear Hannah,
You needs are not unrealistic, with God's help, all His children will get what they need, maybe not when we want them. I'm grateful you have a home, ours was destroyed and we are now living in Florida. Please try to have a Merry Christmas. God bless you.

I told my daughter that Santa will only be bringing her one present this year because he has to take extra to the kids who lost their toys in the hurricane. When she saw Santa Claus at the mall, he couldn't believe that the only thing on her list was an Easybake Oven.

I hope Hannah gets what her heart desires.

Hang in there Hannah, most of what you wish for will come true. If not in time for this Christmas then in time for next Christmas. If you get extra U2 tickets can I go? I'll even drive.

I hope you get some of the things you wished for Hannah. Kids shouldn't have to use up a Xmas wish not to be cold or to hope to see something green outside. You take care and have a Merry Xmas!

Merry Cristmas Hannah. I hope that you get what you wish for. don't worry about the boys though, in a few years you'll actually think thy are cute, (and a bit silly at times too. May you and your family have a blessed X-mas.

Hannah, Are you going to OLA? I will send some money to help cover your tuition. I'll mention your name specifically. God bless you. I'm so sorry for the change this storm has caused in your life. Be brave. Every day things will be a bit more normal. I know it's hard now, but I believe the Bay is truly a wonderful place to grow up. Thanks for sharing your experiences with the rest of the country. They need to know!

For Those reading who want a way to help Hannah and other girls: OLA is the only all girls high school on the coast. I am an alum and it is a wonderful place where girls recieve an excellent education and are THE leaders in all the work they do. It's wonderful formation and preparation for a faithful life. OLA needs tuition assistance for the girls to help pay the teachers, or the school won't be able to survive, in the long run. While their parents have saved and invested in this school for years, most of the buildings were gutted by the storm. While the public schools have 49% enrollment, I believe OLA's is around 75%. These girls are willing to go through very difficult conditions to be together and be home. Please help. www.ourladyacademy.com

I'm just curious, is this a real list by a real child? It seems rather adult in language. (After the scam that DHS ran recently with kids' wants/needs after the hurricane, I'm a bit leery)

Just click on Hannah Anderson's name up top. She's in the eigth grade. This storm has made every child older beyond there years.

Just when I thought I was incapable of having my heart break anymore, my heart broke again when I read this.

What a wonderful and thoughtful list. You deserve every single thing on there, and much, much more. I hope you get them. I hope it happens somehow.

You've been through so much and you are such a brave young lady. I don't think many adults could have been as brave as you were/are.

I, too, like books and reading and think that's wonderful. You also deserve all the pretty things you want, just like in the magazines.

I hope you are warm, safe and happy this holiday and will be thinking of you.

Nothing is impossible hannah. Although you have it rough, God is bigger and able to help you through his people. Keep faith alive in your heart and a smile on your sweet face.

Dear Hannah,
I hope you get what you want for Christmas. Its sad to wish for a grocery store, especially for a teenager. I really hope you get the tickets to the U2 concert!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hannah,

I hope you receive everything on your list. You and your family deserve all of those things. May God Bless you!

Hannah, I applaud your selflessness of putting the needs of your family and others ahead of your own. Keep strong, the MS coast will rise again through all the efforts of wonderful people coming to our aid. I hope you get much more than you've asked for. I would love to help with some of the things you asked for.

Hannah I truly hope you get everything on your list. I'm a 25 yr old right out of grad school. Born and raised in South Louisiana, I feel your pain. I know it's a lot to see everyday and I'm sorry someone so young has to experience it. I know I'm a stranger but if I can do anything (a trip to a mall, a visit with some friends, etc) I'm always up for road trips. I don't know if you don't have a table because you're in one of the trailors but if your family has room for a medium sized kitchen table, I have one stored in my apt. May God bless you and your family and keep yall safe!! you're in my prayers!!

Hannah is a real child. I know her, because we used to live on the coast prior to losing everything too. Like my children, she is educated and has been taught concern and care for others. I can understand skepticism, but this young lady is 100%.

I have recently returned from a brief mission trip back to my community in Hancock county, and I would like to note that as tough as things sound for Hannah there, it is much worse for MANY more kids. After the new year, much of the assistance that has been there is pulling out. Hancock county (aka- ground zero as I call it) is no where ready to be on their own. Please keep the help coming. They really need many hands and many prayers. If you go, you will meet incredible folks that will sing their praises to you and God. They will tell you that they are going to be fine, and they will. They are some of the best, and I was fortunate enough to be a part of this community for three years.

If you wish to help, but don't know what, how, or where, you can contact my old church, Main Street Methodist. (228/467-4538) They have teams being coordinated from that site going out and assisting the county.

ONCE AGAIN THE FEDS HAVE COMPLETELY IGNORED THE POOR SOULS THAT HAVE LOST EVERYTHING.THEY WILL NOT GET IT DONE UNLESS THEY TAKE OVER & GET THINGS DONE ON THEIR OWN.THERE IS ALWAYS STRENGTH IN NUMBERS.THEY HAVE TO RISE UP 7DEMAND THAT THE GOVT DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR THESE POOR SOULS.GOD BLESS EACH & EVERYONE OF THESE PEOPLE.

GOD BLESS YOU

HANNAH,
YOU ARE A ANGEL YOU REALLY TOUCH MY HEART WITH YOUR WISH LIST I HOPE YOU GET EVERYTHING YOU DESERVE AND MORE.KEEP THE FAITH,GOD WILL BLESS YOU WITH ALL THE THINGS YOU NEED, JUST TRUST IN HIM AND HE WILL PROVIDE YOU JUST BELIVE! MY PRAYS ARE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

MERRY CHRISTMAS HANNAH

Obviously,it was a professional journalist who wrote this list.

Hannah, like so many teens and people down there you are amazing and keep your chin up. We are hoping to get another truck down in the New Year, how can we really know what you teens & others need if it were not for your honesty. Make more wish lists- seriously, like what books you like etc.....perhaps MSNBC can start a real 'needs list' site. We have sent all sorts down from measuring cups, cook books, knives and forks, over 1000 blankets, a pan etc etc....I know others would do the same if they knew where and to who.....How about a teen group there linking with other High schoolers re their needs??? My girls have asked about helping (one came with me on a trip to Waveland), she is trying to find ways to link up with other teens down there and help them out.
Anyway, I just pray your wishes will come true and keep smiling girl, you sound wonderful!

Hannah,
You have a real gift from God for writing. Your teachers should help you develop this. I would buy your book if you would write one.

Hannah, I sit here with tears streaming down my face as I read your Dear Santa letter. You have really touched me in a way that no one else has during this whole ordeal. I wish and pray that you receive everything on your list. You are so UNselfish! God bless you and your family!!

Katrina really happened and Hannah really exists and wrote her list. I live in Waveland, MS too. The destruction here cannot be captured in words or in pictures. Thanks to all for their help and prayers - we do appreciate everything.
