I thought Katrina would be nice enough to wipe out the gnat population but I was wrong. They are back and hungrier than ever! We were helping our friends get ready for a party this weekend and we were working outside. They would swarm around every part of your body and attack all at once!
No one likes gnats, all the people I talk to say, "I miss it there so much". I really want to tell you all that you are so lucky you don't have gnats!

Classes under construction
I thought the slide show of "before and after" was very thought provoking. For those of us who don't live in that part of the country, I think it's difficult to imagine the level of devastation that has occured. I found it very sobering to see the extent of the damage. It makes me want to do more to help. Thank you.

While working in Long Beach over Thankgiving, we were tore up bny those gnats. We had to wash ourselves in OFF just to get by. It was rough, but the reward was even better.

Thank you for the before and after pictures. Bay St. Louis was a beautiful city before Katrina struck. I can't wait to see it this spring when, hopefully, the leaves greenery returns and the debris has been cleared. It will be beautiful again, just takes time.

We recently drove to Biloxi/Waveland with a volunteer group from our Church. The devastation that has occurred is hard to comprehend. Imagine having to muck/gut your whole house just to move back in- that is if any of it still remains. Imagine trying to live and work from a tent? The families we spoke to are crying out to get on with their lives. No amount of money will fix this terrible disaster unless we all take time to help. Everyone in America should just spend a few days there, volunteering to help a hurting family rebuild. A few sheets of drywall, roofing assistance and cleanup can go a long way. If you really want to help...you can by spending a few days as a volunteer. Dan, St. John Lutheran,Darien,IL- stjohndarienonline.com
