This weekend we -- my family, eight college kids and three friends -- laid pavers down in owr frontyard.

It took all Saturday and half of Sunday. After we laid them all in place, I got to use a plate compactor. It was cool! I think they said it put 5,000 pounds of pressure on them. I put a stick under it and turned it on. I never did find that stick.

Well i realize I haven't writen a blog lately but today, for us that is, is THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Skateboardin' all day, stayin' up late, and in the mornin,' I'm makin' waffles!

Noah, make the most of your summer. Everyone on the coast deserves it, especially the kids.

Alana, were you living in Galveston when Alisha hit?...that was bad...but not comprable to Katrina

Keep on keepin it on! I have one son your age and a nephew your age who lives (and lived through the terror) in BSL. It is the little things in life you will appreciate now. I just now read your blog. It was good to meet you when you were here in Taylors SC at our church and good to meet you again in BSL on Aug 6 at church. I have ordered the book "Story of the Storm." Keep writing, you provide a point of view that we all can use.

Noah,
I'm Mark and DeNeice's daughter from SC. I wish I had known you were going to be in the Greenville, SC area! It would have been good to catch up with you, and see how thins are moving along at the beach... Since then, I've moved to Ohio, however my parents are only an hour from Greenville. They bought a house in Asheville after spending time in hurricane housing near family in SC.
Send our love to your family!
